Want a lullaby? See Saawariya!

Saawariya and Om Shanti Om have hit the theaters and what is the public response? Sanjay Leela Bhansali has put Mumbai to sleep! That's a disappointing one. I was pretty much excited about the movie but reading the reviews, looks like the movie is a devastating flop. People claim it to be so boring and sad and blue! The story of White Nights seemed to be good on paper, but it was not written well. Director Sanjay Leela Bhansali is known for wonderful movies like Devdas, Hum Dil Chuke Sanam, Black, looks like he wants to be known for bad movies too! That is very sad and disappointing!

Saawariya's story goes like this...it is a story about two young -crossed lovers. Raj(Ranbir) a musician, is certain about his ultimate dream arrives at a picturesque town . Destiny has different choices for him. He encounters a lonely girl Sakina there. He is totally driven by her charm, innocence and beauty and falls in love. On the other hand hand, it looks like Sonam and Salman have a first -sight love. Salman disappears suddenly. His 10 minute appearance seems to be impressive but his appearance at the culmination perplexes the audience! Sakina(Sonam) has a very confused character keeps chanting Salman's name, but does not have the slightest idea of who he is!

The ambiance or the sets of the movie is dreamy. But it seems to be blue through out and is boring! People say "Pura picture andhera mein hai!" Ravi.K.Chandran a cinematographer of high International Standards could have brought more sunshine in the sets of Saawariya.

The only plus points in the movie seems to be the music and the new faces. Ranbir and Sonam are promising actors and their debuts in Bollywood came out through real big banners of Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Sony Productions. But will the movie do them justice? The songs of Saawariya are rich, melodious and enchanting. Every song is a master-piece. Looks like the mistake happened with the writing of the story. Sad but true Saawariya is a flop. That is what the public says! I am in fix now whether to watch it or not! SLB stories of love, passion, and dreams seem to be missing in "Saawariya."

Meera signs off for the day feeling blue.....Stay tuned!

wait do u not have d mind of ur own...cant u go watch d movie and decide what u think..ppl are bashing d movie period..ppl are not ready for change.. therefore u've got some ppl bashing it becoz of salman's role, some becoz of d ending...den u've got the constant comparison to OSO..its really sad that ppl can't see beyond anything flashy and melodramatic.

just to shed light on some things in d movie.

salman wasn't the lead actor of the film...he was just a guest....ppl need to understand that the movie was about ranbir and sonam's character....the movie is also based on a short story so therefore not very long, either did it have time to explain every aspect of it....now there are different ways to tell a story...it can be a narration or descriptive....i believe saawariya was a narration and did not need to introduce all the character....it just tells u the story from ranbir and sonam's character point of view....a lot of ppl are bashing d ending...i don't understand y..the ending was d best...the fact that she ended up with her love..whom she'd been waiting for, it is NB to remember her mother's situation...the fact that raj will continue to love her, and he was even happy for her....love doesn't alway mean ending up together, its loving anyway..in everyday life, ppl in love doesn't alway end up together, it is good to be remembered of the real world...sometimes we get lost in bollywood's type of love... where no matter what everything always works out...the ending was sooo refreshing...those are the types of movie u always remember..coz it will eat u up in side..u'll want to change it...u'll feel raj's pain..u'll fell sakina's happiness and sorrow...it will get under ur skin...it'll also give u hope.

i am a big srk's fan...i started watching bollywood movies becoz of him and mahima and so u can guess dat my faz movie is pardes...i am not indian or asian but i love bollywood ....am a writer so i love good movies, storys...saawariya might seem too slow, blue and some ppl think it lacks a good script but we forgetting the concept, it is a simple, effortless, plain love story, no melodrama or unnecessary angst....its a fairytale that y it has blue and green colour setting, a world out of the ordinary, where there is no materialistic things in d way of the story...its tells u more from the setting.....the emotions...the body language......i think it was a fantastic movie...perfect in my opinion....although i do think India is not ready for this kind of movies yet, i will later be appreciate. SLB is a great director and if u say otherwise...well no offense but u do not understand cinema, art or a good simple concept....the man his making a mark for Bollywood in d world and in Hollywood...i support and respect his work.
