THE CONCEPT CAR.............

Yes, Nissan has unveiled it's second concept car PIVO 2 .I was reading about this car yesterday in The Hindu. The car is really cool. It's nice blue in colour and a three- seater. Pivo 2 is a electric vehicle that can boost upto 360 degrees turning cabin and 90 degree turning wheels. It has wired technology for braking and steering facilities. Yes! this car can drive sideways and forward! Isn't that amazing! I wonder how much parking space this car would require and it turns parallel parking to perpendicular. No reverse required! Seriously don't know how well it would do in the market. I cannot imagine myself sitting in it and driving sideways! Hihihi!
You can visit PIVO 2's micro site for more information on Tokyo Motor Show, which starts October 26 at the Makuhari Messe convention center, and runs through November 11. Also,
You-tube has videos about this car.Watch it! Enjoy it!

Healthy and Delicious for Kids................

Boy! Some kids really know how not to eat! For some reason they just don't want to eat! As a child I have been a good kid who loves to eat...... Hihi funny? I remember my mom making really delicious snacks or a meal for me.She used to spend so much of time thinking what to cook, and how to cook to help me eat happily. I was never forced. I am not so much of a dedicated my mom like her .........but these days I try to help my kid happily. In this trial and error method, as you all know, comes out different recipes and thought of posting it. many of you might already know this, so please bear!

YUMMY COINS

Ingredients Needed:- 6 bread slices ,2 small boiled and grated potatoes, 1 finely chopped onion,1 carrot, chopped, 1 capsicum nicely chopped ,1/4 cup finely cut cabbage, little turmeric powder, pepper powder, garam masala powder, (depending on the child's taste... not too spicy or bland)1/4 cup of maida dissolved in water like thick batter, and bread crumbs and oil for frying.

Preparations:-

1.Add 2 tbsp oil in a kadai and fry the onions till transparent.Add cabbage, capsicum, carrot and cook on low flame for 3-4 minutes and then add the grated potato, masala powder, pepper and salt and cook for 2 minutes. Keep aside.

2.With a cutter cut out small rounds or any desired shape of the bread. Now make a sandwich with the potato mixture. Add little maida paste to keep the sandwich together and sprinkle bread crumbs and press. Deep fry......and serve with Tomato Ketchup.
We can also garnish with the child's favourite nuts, like cashews or pistachios to make it more entising for the kid.
I am sure kids will love this. It could be a nice healthy snack after the kids come from school, after a long day!

Do try it and let me know.............

A Thrilling 8 Run Victory for India!

Hip Hip Hurray! finally India wins the game in the Fourth ODI of the Future Cup Series just by 8 runs! The Aussies still have a 2-1 lead in the match, but the Indian team did it yesterday. It is yet an uphill task for our team, because we just have 3 more matches to go. The match started off with the best opening partnership of Ganguly and Sachin and they laid an awesome platform of 91 runs. This consistency and partnership lead the match to victory! Sachin and Ganguly were always known for this.Yuvraj and Sachin also kept the pace and Dhoni's storming 50 of 35 balls was terrific. India's bowling had 5 specialists and Murali Karthik also showed a variety of attacks. The whole victory was a joint team effort, and this effort has to be kept forever.

On the other hand the Aussies were great fighters too!Hayden's 92 was very imposing until his wicket was captured by Murali Karthik.Harbhajan took Clarke's wicket and Skipper Dhoni also took some smart wickets. It was just not a day for the Aussies. But they are great fighters and the Kangaroos can pounce back. We just cannot underestimate them. We have 3 more matches to go..... The host team has to play with the same spirit and enthusiasm to win. An exciting match indeed!

JAB WE MET................

Jab we met......... an eagerly awaited Hindi comedy is to be released on 26th October. It is directed by Imtiaz Ali and is going to be released under Shri Ashtavinayak Cinevision Ltd.The movie is starred by Sahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor. The music is composed by Pritam, and the lyrics are written by Irshad Kamil.

The story basically revolves around Aditya (Sahid) a defeated industrialist and who is even more upset because his girlfriend is marrying another guy, and Geet(Kareena) who plans eloping with her guy and these two meet and the story continues. There is not much great about the story and I also got to hear a few songs from the movie. The music is just OK, there is nothing magical about the songs. The movie has a few fast tracks which have this Bhangra beat blended.

The song "Tum Se Hi" sung by Mohit Chauhan is a nice melody. Again, Shreya Goshal has proved her best in the song "Yeh Ishq Haai". Her voice is amazing and is full of life and vigour. The beats of the song is also catchy. Another song"Aao Milo Chalo" by Ustad Sultan Khan has a classical style blended with it. These are the few songs that are nice in the movie, otherwise the other songs are just OK, nothing special.

Is "Jab We Met" a Dhool or a Dhammal ? We will know very soon..........

This is Meera signing off............. stay tuned.

YOU HAVE BAD EATING HABIT............?

Hi there! Do any of you think you have a bad eating habit like, eating too much of snacks, or gulping you food, or trying to eat when your are more stressed? Actually I was going through an article about this and thought would post it. It might be helpful! Check it out! Here is a list some bad eating habits and a solution to them. Come let us try to break our bad eating habits!

Bad eating habit: You're a serious snacker

The fallout: You may end up overeating. A healthy snack or two between meals is fine. They can keep blood sugar steady as well as allow you to rack up more servings of fruits and vegetables. "It's when you snack in place of eating real meals that you're more likely to lose track of how much you're eating," says Tara Gidus, R.D., an Orlando, Florida--based spokesperson for the American Dietetic Association. Of course, what you eat matters, too. Typical snack foods (chips, cookies, pretzels) aren't that nutritious or satisfying, so it's easy to overdo them.

The fix: To keep your energy up and hunger at bay, allow yourself two snacks a day of 100 to 300 calories each. "Rather than a cookie or a candy bar, opt for something that feels like real food -- half of a small sandwich, whole-grain crackers with cheese, a handful of nuts, baby carrots with hummus, or yogurt sprinkled with cereal," says Gidus.

Bad eating habit: You're a speed-eater

The fallout: Gulping food may set you up for stomach troubles. "You take in excess air, which can lead to bloating," says Leslie Bonci, R.D., director of sports nutrition at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. You also might not be chewing well. Saliva begins to break food down, and too little time in the mouth leaves more work for the rest of the digestive tract. This may contribute to indigestion, says Ellie Krieger, R.D., host of the Food Network's Healthy Appetite.

Finally, speed-eating doesn't give the brain time to catch up to the stomach; it needs at least 20 minutes to get the message that your stomach is full. A recent study found that women who ate a meal in 30 minutes ate 10 percent fewer calories compared with those who wolfed one down in barely 10.

The fix: Try to slow down. Avoid finger foods, and instead choose items you have to put on a plate and eat with utensils, such as stir-fries and salads. Pause often, and drink water throughout meals

Bad eating habit: You eat your way out of a bad mood.

The fallout:
It may be soothing in the moment, but feeding your fears and frustrations, instead of confronting them, can lead to a cycle of more bad moods as well as steady weight gain. Many people turn to carbohydrates, in particular, which produce tryptophan, a type of amino acid that is used by the brain to manufacture serotonin. When the brain makes more serotonin, your mood improves, but only temporarily, says Judith Wurtman, Ph.D., a coauthor of "The Serotonin Power Diet."

The Fix: Stop to think about what's bothering you before reflexively opening the cupboard. Then try a nonfood mood booster, such as taking a walk, seeing a movie, or calling a friend. If nothing but carbs will do, get the serotonin boost without triggering a binge, says Tara Gidus, R.D.. Opt for a whole-grain treat so at least you get more fiber and less sugar.

Bad eating habit: You eat carefully all week, then blow it on the
weekend
.
The fallout: Whether you want to lose weight, maintain your weight, or simply eat healthier, it is possible to undo five days of good with regular weekend free-for-alls. In 2004 data from the National Weight Control Registry revealed that people who were consistent in their weekly eating habits, even if they weren't perfect, were 1.5 times more likely to stay within five pounds of their weight over one year than were those who were vigilant on weekdays only.

The fix: Since much socializing around food takes place on weekends, it pays to strategize. "Have a mini meal before you go out to help you have more self-control, and offer to be the designated driver to limit alcohol intake," says Gidus. (Alcohol has more calories than you probably think.) And don't restrict yourself so severely Monday through Friday that the weekend feels like your only time for indulgence.

Well, I think, it is worth giving this a try!For more helpful tips check out http://www.realsimple.com/
